What are the requirements to become Miss Oktoberfest?

If you are currently not married, between the ages of 19 to 28 years and reside within an 80 km radius of Kitchener-Waterloo, you are eligible to become a participant.

How many candidates participate in the selection of Miss Oktoberfest?

A select number of participants will be required to attend the Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball.

What happens after paperwork (entry form, photo, fee and sponsor logo) is submitted?

Participants are contacted by a representative from the committee with additional details (judging, special events, etc.)

What is required of each candidate?

Mandatory Dates for Participants in 2017 include: Special Events which will take place between September 11 to September 18 (in the evening); Judging (Wednesday, September 20 from 5 pm until 10 pm); Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball Rehearsal (Thursday, September 28 from 6 pm – 9 pm); Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball – crowning of Miss Oktoberfest 2017 (Friday, September 30 from 5 pm until after crowning).

What are the responsibilities should you win?

Miss Oktoberfest is one of the most requested ambassadors for Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. Miss Oktoberfest reigns from September 29, 2017 to September 28, 2018 and must be available for numerous activities throughout the year. From October 1, 2017 to October 15, 2018, Miss Oktoberfest will be very busy with festival activities (day and night).

What is the entry deadline & entry fee?

Entry Deadline is Friday, September 8, 2017.  Corporate/Individual Sponsorship Entry Fee is $350 + HST which includes:

  • Presentation of company logo on large screens
  • Event program recognition
  • Verbal exposure throughout the evening of the Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball

Where can I find a sponsor?

Most participants already have secured their own sponsor.  In some cases, the committee may be able to assist in this matter.

What is the judging criteria?

The selection is based upon the 3 following processes:  Application, Interview and Public Speaking.  Judging is done through a series of interviews on Wednesday, September 20.

What are the clothing requirements?

Attire varies from casual to formal depending on the event and will be outlined by a committee representative.
